Click-to-Call, Text and Email Links and Buttons

A tap can open your visitor's phone dialer, messaging app or email program with your details already filled in. It removes friction, especially on mobile.

Text links

  1. Highlight the text in the builder and click the link icon.
  2. Enter tel:+1234567890 for calls, or mailto:name@example.com for email.
  3. Save and test on a phone.

Buttons

  1. Select the button and scroll to Button Actions.
  2. Open the Link To dropdown and choose Call, SMS or Email.
  3. Enter the phone number or email address.
  4. Save and test.

Images and icons

The same link formats work on images and icons, which is useful for a phone icon in a header.

Good practice

  • One link does one thing. Add separate buttons if you want to offer calling and texting.
  • Devices without the feature may do nothing, for example a desktop computer with no SMS app. Show your number or address as plain text too.
  • Use country codes in phone numbers so they dial correctly.

Tracking taps

To measure clicks or start a follow-up, use a trigger link. When someone clicks, a Workflow can tag the Contact, send a message or notify your team.

Good to know: Test every click-to link on both iPhone and Android before launching a campaign.
