Simple (Event) Calendars
Event calendars are the right choice when you're scheduling something that isn't tied to one specific person's availability — a workshop, a public seminar, an open house, a webinar session, or any event where the booking is about a time slot, not a staff member.
What makes them different
Event calendars don't require assigning a host. Because there's no individual staff member attached to the booking, meeting locations are static — a physical address or a pre-set virtual meeting link you paste in yourself, rather than a dynamically generated Zoom or Google Meet link. Bookings only sync to whichever external calendar you've connected; there's no per-staff availability logic to manage.
Setting one up
- Go to Calendars > Calendar Settings.
- Click + New Calendar and choose Event Calendar from the type dropdown.
- Enter a name and description, and customize the booking URL.
- Set the event's duration and configure the availability window (the dates and times people can book into).
- Add a meeting location — either a physical venue address or a static conferencing link you've already generated.
- Open Advanced Settings if you need to configure anything further, like forms, notifications, or payment.
- Click Confirm to finish. You'll get a booking link and embed code you can share or place on a website.
Limitation to know about
Because no individual user is assigned to the calendar, dynamic conferencing integrations (auto-generated Zoom or Google Meet links per booking) aren't supported here — use a static link instead if the event is virtual.
When to use this instead of a Service Calendar
If the event is really about the time and place rather than which staff member shows up, an Event Calendar is simpler to set up and manage than trying to force it into a staff-based Service Calendar.
