Undo, Redo, and Recent Changes in the Workflow Builder
Experiment freely: every change you make on the canvas can be reversed or replayed during your editing session, and a Recent Changes list lets you jump back to a specific moment.
Undo and redo
- Use the Undo and Redo buttons on the canvas toolbar.
- Shortcuts on Windows: Ctrl + Z to undo, Ctrl + Y to redo.
- Shortcuts on Mac: Cmd + Z to undo, Cmd + Y or Cmd + Shift + Z to redo.
These also apply to edits made by the AI workflow builder, so you can reverse an AI-generated change or bring it back.
Recent Changes
- Open a workflow in Automation > Workflows.
- Make a few edits.
- Click Recent Changes on the canvas.
- Select any entry to move the canvas to that point in time.
This is faster than pressing undo repeatedly when you want to go back many steps.
Session limits
- History belongs to your current editing session. It clears when you refresh, close the tab, or exit.
- Restoring a saved version from Version History also resets undo and redo.
- It tracks only your own edits, not those of colleagues.
Recent Changes versus Version History
- Recent Changes are temporary, personal, and good for quick rollbacks.
- Version History keeps shared, lasting snapshots for rolling back across days or between editors.
Tips
- Save a named version before a major restructure, then use undo for small corrections.
- If a teammate's change caused a problem, use Version History rather than undo.
Good to know: Undo history disappears on refresh, so don't rely on it as a long-term backup.
