Using the Button Element

A button turns an email into an action. It is the clearest way to point a reader toward booking, buying, downloading or replying.

Button actions

Each button can do one of several things when tapped:

  • URL: open a web page.
  • Mail: open the reader's email app with a pre-set recipient.
  • File Download: start a download from a direct file link.
  • Telephone: place a call on a phone.
  • Other: use for anything that does not fit the above.

Adding a button

  1. Open a template or campaign at Marketing > Emails.
  2. Click Add Elements and drag Button into a column.
  3. Click the block and type the Button Text, for example Reserve My Seat.
  4. Choose the action and enter the URL, address, file link or phone number.
  5. Style it: font, size, text color, Background Color, Border Radius and padding.
  6. Choose Alignment, or turn on Total Width to stretch it across the column.
  7. Use the Visibility tab for device-specific or conditional display.
  8. Preview in desktop and mobile.

Styling tips

A large border radius (around 75) gives a pill shape, while a low value gives a squared look. Colors accept hex codes and also custom values, and the canvas updates instantly so you do not need to open Preview to check them.

To set the same look for every button at once, use Appearance > Button and set the default corner radius, color and font.

Good to know: One clear button per email usually outperforms several competing ones.
