Making Outbound Calls
Place calls straight from your browser using the web dialer — no desk phone or separate app required.
Starting a call
- Click the phone icon in the dialer to open it.
- Dial a number manually, pick a recent call, or search for a contact by name.
- Click to connect.
Controls during a call
- Mute — turn off your microphone without disconnecting.
- Hold — pause the call; neither side can hear the other until you resume.
- Warm transfer — call a teammate privately first, brief them, then merge all three lines together.
- Blind transfer — send the call straight to another number or teammate and drop off yourself.
Choosing which number you call from
If you have access to more than one number, use the Calling From dropdown before dialing to pick which one shows as your caller ID. Users who only have a single assigned number will dial from that number automatically.
If the dialer isn't working
- Check that your browser has microphone permission enabled — look for the mic/lock icon in the address bar.
- Disable VPNs or browser extensions that might interfere with audio, or test in an incognito/guest window to rule them out.
- Make sure the number's outbound timeout is set to at least 20 seconds, so calls aren't cut off before they connect.
See Troubleshooting Call Quality if calls connect but sound bad or drop mid-conversation.
