Create a Recurring Countdown Timer
A recurring timer runs for a set length of time, hits zero, and then starts over on its own. It suits anything that repeats: a weekly webinar, a Friday sale, a monthly drop. You build it once instead of cloning a new timer every cycle.
Key Settings
- Start Date/Time: when the first cycle begins.
- Countdown Duration: how long each cycle lasts, such as 7 days.
- Loop Events: the total number of cycles. A value of 3 means the original countdown plus two repeats.
- Countdown Timer Waits For: an optional pause between cycles (see the separate article on wait time).
The timer only refreshes after a full duration has finished. A seven-day duration restarts weekly, not daily.
Set One Up
- Go to Marketing, then Countdown Timers.
- Click + New to start from a design, or click the pencil icon next to an existing timer.
- In the General tab, set Timer Type to Recurring.
- Enter the Start Date/Time, Loop Events, and Countdown Duration.
- Optionally configure the wait period and whether to hide the timer while it waits on pages.
- Add the Active Link and Expired Link.
- Adjust the appearance under Styling, name the timer, and click Save.
Example: Weekly Promotion
Start on Monday at 8:00 AM, set the duration to 7 days, and set Loop Events to 4. The timer will run for four consecutive weeks, resetting automatically each Monday morning in the time zone you selected.
Good to know: Recurring timers use the time zone chosen during setup, so every visitor sees the same reference clock regardless of where they are.
