Recover Lost Sales with Abandoned Checkout Emails

A well-timed follow-up email can bring back a meaningful share of shoppers who left without finishing checkout.

How it works

An automatic follow-up email links straight back to their checkout with items still in the cart — works across devices, shows current prices, flags anything now out of stock.

Turning it on

  1. Go to Payments > Settings > Notifications.
  2. Toggle on Enable Abandoned Cart Emails.
  3. Choose the email template.
  4. Write a subject line.
  5. Set the send delay — default 10 hours.

Customizing the email

Build a custom version in Marketing > Emails > Templates, using {{ ecom_checkout_page_url }} and a Shopping Cart element to show abandoned items.

Limitations worth knowing

Only one email per abandonment, no multi-touch sequence. Only applies to store checkouts, not funnel/website order forms.

Reviewing abandoned checkouts directly

See Manage and Export Abandoned Checkouts for the raw list.
