Write or Update Many Google Sheets Rows in One Step

Standard row actions handle one record at a time. The multiple-row actions let a single workflow run create or refresh several spreadsheet rows together, which is ideal for grouped or repeating data.

Create multiple rows

Create Multiple Spreadsheet Row(s) adds new rows, but only when the workflow run holds a list of row objects. Each object becomes one row. A list of three people produces three rows; a single record produces one.

Example of a list shape:

Lists usually come from an Inbound Webhook trigger that receives an array, or from a webhook step that returns one.

Workflows do not batch contacts for you. If you enrol 5,000 contacts, each runs separately and creates its own row.

Update multiple rows

Update Multiple Spreadsheet Row(s) changes existing rows without adding duplicates. Enter the row number where updating should begin.

Set it up

  1. Add a trigger such as Form Submitted or Inbound Webhook.
  2. Click +, choose Google Sheets, and connect your Google account.
  3. Pick the multiple-row action.
  4. Select the drive, spreadsheet, and worksheet.
  5. For updates, enter the starting row number.
  6. Choose Starting Column and Ending Column; the first sheet row supplies the header names.
  7. Click Refresh Headers if columns changed, map your data, and Save Action.

Troubleshooting

  • Only one row appeared: the run held a single record.
  • A column is missing: refresh headers.
  • Data landed in the wrong place: recheck the worksheet tab.

Good to know: This is a premium action and may use execution credits each time it runs.
