Customize Estimates with Values, Quantities, and Images

Beyond the basics, estimates support a few extra ways to make a quote more precise and more visual for the customer reviewing it.

Custom values

Add specific details unique to that estimate — like a project name or a special condition — directly in the estimate's Custom Values field while editing. If you find yourself entering the same custom values repeatedly, predefine them under Settings > Estimates Preferences so they're automatically available on every new estimate.

Fractional (partial) quantities

Not everything is sold in whole units. When adding a line item, you can enter a fractional quantity — like 1.5 hours of labor, or 2.5 yards of material — and Vendi Today calculates the price automatically based on the exact amount entered. This is especially useful for time-based services, materials sold by length or weight, or anything else that doesn't come in clean whole numbers.

Product images

Attach up to four images per line item so a client can see exactly what they're being quoted for.

  1. Open an estimate and add your line items as usual.
  2. Click Upload Images beneath the relevant line item.
  3. Choose from your media library or upload new files (JPG or PNG, up to 2MB each).
  4. Send the estimate as usual.

Customers see the images as clickable thumbnails that open into a full-screen, swipeable gallery on mobile. If the estimate is later converted into an invoice, the images carry over automatically. For additional supporting files like spec sheets or PDFs, use the separate attachments feature covered in Add Attachments to Invoices and Estimates.
