Deleting & Restoring a Phone Number

Deleting a phone number releases it back to the carrier pool — it's not always reversible, so treat it as a deliberate action.

Before you delete a number

  • Reassign or note any workflows, forms, or automations that reference the number, since they'll break once it's gone.
  • Make sure no active call routing or IVR depends on it.
  • Confirm you actually want to release it — once deleted, you generally can't get the exact same number back after the recovery window closes.

Restoring a recently deleted number

You have 10 days from the deletion date to restore a number. To request restoration:

  1. Contact support (chat or a support ticket).
  2. Provide your account/location details and the deleted number.
  3. Support will attempt to restore it if it's still available.

After 10 days, the number is generally no longer recoverable through the standard process — it may already be reassigned to another customer.

After a number is restored

Restoring a number brings the number itself back, but it does not automatically restore whatever was configured on it before — call routing, forwarding, IVR, and voicemail settings will need to be rebuilt manually.
