Using Call Data in Workflows
The Call Details workflow trigger starts an automation whenever information about a call is recorded or updated — letting you react automatically to what happened on a call instead of manually checking call logs.
What it can filter on
- Call status — answered, no answer, went to voicemail, busy, and so on
- Direction — inbound or outbound
- The specific phone number or number pool the call came through
- Disposition — the outcome tag a team member selected (see Call Dispositions)
You can combine multiple filters so the workflow only fires for exactly the scenario you care about — for example, "inbound calls to my Google Ads tracking number that ended in voicemail."
What you can build with it
- Automatic follow-up — text or email a lead automatically when a call goes unanswered or to voicemail.
- Tagging — tag a contact based on the call's outcome so your team can filter or segment by it later.
- Routing — send a contact into a different pipeline or workflow depending on which number or campaign their call came through.
- Internal alerts — notify a manager or create a task when a call matches a condition worth escalating (e.g., disposition = "Complaint").
Setting it up
- In a workflow, add Call Details as the trigger (or as a filter condition on an existing trigger).
- Set the filters for status, direction, number/pool, and/or disposition.
- Build out the rest of the workflow — the actions that should fire when those conditions are met.
