Use Google Contacts Triggers and Actions in Workflows
This integration links your Contacts with a Google address book, in either direction, so people you meet in one place appear in the other.
Triggers
- New Contact: a contact is added in Google Contacts.
- New Group: a contact group is created.
They are checked about every five minutes, so the workflow starts shortly after the change, not instantly.
Actions
- Create Contact, Update Contact, Find Contact (by name, email, or phone).
- Find or Create Contact: updates when a match exists and adds one when it does not, which prevents duplicates.
- Create Group and Add Contact to Groups.
Connect and build
- In Automation > Workflows, search for Google Contacts when adding a trigger or action.
- Click Connect Now and sign in with your Google account, or connect from Settings > Integrations.
- Choose the trigger or action and map the fields: name, email, phone, and group.
- Test it, then save and publish.
Examples
- Save booked clients: after a Calendars appointment is booked, run Find or Create Contact so they land in your phone's address book.
- Form to Google Contacts: map each submitted form to a new Google contact and add them to a group.
- Welcome new entries: when someone is added in Google, send a personal text and add a tag.
Good to know: Prefer Find or Create over plain Create so repeat submissions update one entry instead of creating many.
