Fixing a Booking Link That Shows No Available Slots

A booking page telling every visitor there's nothing available is one of the more visible calendar problems, since it's immediately obvious to anyone who tries to book — including potential customers you're actively losing while it's broken.

Work through the likely causes in order

  1. Check working hours — confirm the calendar actually has hours configured for the days customers are trying to book. A calendar with no hours set for a given day will correctly show no slots, which can look like a bug when it's actually a configuration gap.
  2. Check staff availability — if the calendar depends on staff assignment, confirm at least one assigned staff member has open hours and isn't fully booked, on vacation, or removed from the service.
  3. Check external conflict calendars — events marked busy across every connected staff member's external calendar can eat up all remaining slots even though your core working hours look fine.
  4. Check the booking window — a minimum notice setting or a maximum days-in-advance limit can make it look like nothing is available if a customer is booking either too soon or too far out relative to those limits.
  5. Check for an "away" or paused status on the calendar itself — some calendars have a toggle to temporarily stop accepting new bookings, which is easy to forget was turned on.

A fast way to narrow it down

Try booking as a test customer across a wide date range. If slots appear further out but not in the next few days, that points to a minimum notice setting. If nothing appears at all regardless of date, that points to working hours, staff availability, or an away/paused status.

Good to know: "No available slots" almost never means the calendar is broken — it means the combination of your rules is technically working as configured, just not in the way you intended. Walk through each layer rather than assuming a technical failure.
