Create a New Event
Setting up an event takes a few minutes. You supply the basics, and the event is saved as a draft that you can refine before anyone sees it.
Steps
- Go to Memberships, then Events.
- Click + Create Event at the top right.
- Choose Ticketed or RSVP.
- Complete the details:
- Event name: up to 100 characters; it becomes the page headline.
- Cover image: PNG, JPG, or GIF, ideally 1920 x 1080 px and under 5 MB.
- Short summary: up to 160 characters for the hero area.
- Event description: use the rich text editor for lists, links, and images.
- Set the Start and End dates and times, choose the Timezone, and pick a 12 hour or 24 hour display format.
- Choose the location.
- In-person: enter the address.
- Online: enter a title, meeting URL, optional image, and instructions, then decide when the link is revealed.
- Add the organizer: name and email are required; an image (ideally 400 x 400 px), website, and phone are optional.
- Click Create event.
What Happens Next
Your event is a Draft. Continue by adding tickets, a schedule, speakers, page design, and settings, then publish when ready. The timezone you choose here also governs ticket sale windows, session times, and coupon periods.
Tips
- Write the short summary as a single compelling sentence; it is the first thing visitors read.
- Use a landscape cover image with the focal point in the center so it crops cleanly on phones.
- Double-check the timezone, because every date in the event inherits it.
Good to know: The organizer details appear in a "Hosted by" section on the public page, so use a brand name and monitored email address.
