Set a Signing Order for Recipients

When a document has several signers, you can choose whether everyone gets invited at the same time or whether they have to sign one after another in a specific sequence.

Why order matters

Some agreements need it — a vendor might need to sign before a client, or an internal approver might need to sign off before the document goes out for a client's signature. Requiring signatures in order enforces that sequence automatically.

How to set it up

  1. Open the document you're preparing to send and go to the recipient/sending screen.
  2. Turn on the Signing Order toggle.
  3. Reorder the list of signers by dragging and dropping each one into the position you want.
  4. Send the document as usual.

What happens when it's on vs. off

  • On: Vendi Today emails the first signer only. Once they complete their fields, the next signer in line is automatically notified, and so on until everyone has signed.
  • Off: every signer is invited at the same time and can sign in any order.

When to use it

Turn signing order on for agreements where sequence matters for legal, compliance, or approval reasons. Leave it off for simple agreements where it doesn't matter who signs first — this gets the document completed faster since nobody is waiting on anyone else.
