Tax-Inclusive or Exclusive Pricing

You can choose whether the prices customers see already include tax, or whether tax is calculated and added on top at checkout. This is a global setting with the option to override it per product.

Set the global default

  1. Go to Payments > Settings > Taxes.
  2. Choose either:
    • Tax-inclusive — the price shown to customers already includes tax. Discounts reduce the total including tax.
    • Tax-exclusive — tax is calculated on top of the listed price and shown as a separate line at checkout.

Override for a specific product

When creating or editing a product, you can leave it set to Follow global settings or choose a specific model just for that item. This is useful if most of your catalog is tax-exclusive but a handful of products (for example, items sold in a region that requires inclusive pricing) need to work differently.

Where this applies

Your chosen model is reflected consistently across order forms, order summaries, invoices, and receipts, so customers always see a consistent price whether they're checking out on a funnel, a store, or a payment link.

Before you change it

If you switch the pricing model after you already have open invoices or quotes, those existing documents may be affected. Review any outstanding invoices or estimates before changing this setting so totals don't shift unexpectedly for customers who haven't paid yet.
