Schedule Facebook Stories
Facebook Stories are quick, full-screen photos or short videos that vanish after 24 hours. Along with feed posts and Reels, you can now plan them in Social Planner.
Story requirements
- One image or one video per story.
- Image: JPEG, PNG, or GIF, up to 4 MB.
- Video: any common format, up to 1 GB, between 3 and 90 seconds long, at least 540 x 960 pixels.
- Thumbnails and link preview cards are not available for stories.
Create a Facebook Story
- Open Marketing > Social Planner and make sure your Facebook Page is connected in settings.
- Click + New Post and then Create New Post.
- In Post to, choose your Facebook Page.
- Set the content type to Story.
- Upload your image or video.
- Click the post button and choose Post now or Schedule post, then pick a date and time.
Design advice
- Use a vertical layout, around 1080 x 1920 pixels, so nothing is cropped.
- Keep important text away from the top and bottom edges where Facebook shows its own controls.
- Stories are brief, so a single clear message works better than a busy layout.
Troubleshooting
If the story is rejected, compare your file with the sizes above. A video shorter than 3 seconds or smaller than 540 x 960 is the most common cause.
Good to know: Schedule stories to run alongside a feed post or Reel on the same topic so your message appears in several places at once.
