Give or Remove Course Access Automatically with Offer Actions

Two membership actions manage who can enter a course: Course Grant Offer enrolls a contact, and Course Revoke Offer takes access away. Both work through offers, so access follows whatever product the offer is attached to.

Prepare first

  1. Create the course under Memberships > Products.
  2. Create an offer under Memberships > Offers. It can be paid (behind a payment gateway) or free, with no paywall.

The offer must exist before you can select it in a workflow.

Course Grant Offer

  1. Create a workflow with a trigger such as Contact Created, Form Submitted or Payment Received.
  2. Click + and choose Course Grant Offer.
  3. Name it, for example "Grant beginner course".
  4. Select the Offer.
  5. Add a Send Email step with the course link so the new student knows where to start.
  6. Save and publish.

If the contact already has that offer, they are not enrolled twice and their progress is not reset. Later steps in the workflow still run, so add a condition if you want to avoid a duplicate welcome email.

Course Revoke Offer

  1. Choose a trigger that marks the end of access, for example a tag like "expired", a failed payment, or a subscription cancellation.
  2. Add Course Revoke Offer.
  3. Name it and select the Offer to remove.
  4. Optionally add an email or a tag for follow-up.
  5. Save and publish.

Patterns

  • Free lead magnet course: grant on form submit, no payment.
  • Subscription access: grant on payment, revoke when the subscription ends.
  • Cohorts: grant on a start date, revoke after a set number of days using Wait.
  • Upgrade path: revoke the basic offer, then grant the premium one.

Good to know: Offers are the link between workflows and course content, so double-check you picked the right offer rather than the right course.
