Connect and Post to Threads

Threads, Meta's text-first network, can be managed from the same calendar as your other channels. Posts can also be automated with category queues, RSS posting, and bulk uploads.

Connect your Threads account

1. Go to Marketing > Social Planner.
2. Click + Socials, then Connect Threads.
3. Log in with the Instagram account linked to your Threads profile and authorize access. Threads sign-in runs through Instagram, so no separate password is needed.
4. Click Add beside the profile you want to use.
5. The account now appears in the All Accounts dropdown.

Your Threads profile must be public for publishing to work. If the login expires, you will be prompted to Reconnect, and scheduled posts resume afterwards.

Posting limits

• Text: up to 500 characters. Longer text continues automatically as a threaded reply.
• Images: JPEG or PNG, 8 MB each, up to 20 per post.
• Video: MP4 or MOV, up to 1 GB and 5 minutes, 23 to 60 frames per second, H.264 or HEVC.
• Posts can mix images and videos, with up to 20 items in total.
• Custom thumbnails and location tags are not supported.

What you can do

• Compose, schedule, and cross-post to several Threads accounts at once.
• View posts, likes, comments, and engagement rate in Statistics.
• Read and reply to Threads comments in the Comments inbox (reconnect existing accounts once to enable it).

What you cannot do

Threads does not allow editing a post after it is published, and deleting happens in the Threads app.

Good to know: Keep the first line of a longer Threads post strong, since the continuation appears as a reply.
