Filter Form, Survey and Quiz Submissions by Terms Agreement
If your forms ask people to accept terms and conditions, workflows can use the answer to decide what happens next. The terms filter separates people who agreed from those who did not.
Where it works
The filter is available on three triggers: Form Submitted, Survey Submitted and Quiz Submitted. It checks whether the person ticked the terms checkbox on that submission. Anyone who did not interact with the checkbox counts as "not agreed".
Add the filter
- Open a workflow in Automation > Workflows.
- Click Add New Trigger and choose Form Submitted, Survey Submitted or Quiz Submitted.
- Select the specific form, survey or quiz.
- Click Add filters and choose the terms and conditions option.
- Pick whether to match people who agreed or who did not agree.
- Click Save Trigger.
You can combine this with other filters, such as the form name or a tag, for finer targeting.
Example setups
- Marketing consent: one trigger for agreed submissions that adds a "Subscriber" tag and sends a welcome email, and a second trigger for non-agreed submissions that sends only a transactional confirmation.
- Regulated services: continue to the booking step only for submissions where terms were accepted; otherwise send a link back to the form.
- Promotions: keep people who have not accepted updated terms out of discount campaigns.
Tips for tidy setups
- Use two triggers in one workflow instead of two workflows when the later steps are the same.
- Test with a real submission of each type and review the result in enrollment history.
- Keep the form wording clear so the checkbox genuinely records consent.
Good to know: Pair the filter with a tag so you can see at a glance who accepted terms when browsing your contact list.
