Troubleshoot Facebook Pages and Publishing Problems

Most Facebook issues in Social Planner come down to missing page roles, incomplete permissions, or an expired login. Use this guide to match your symptom with a fix.

Pages missing from the connection list

You have access only through Business Manager. Social Planner needs direct admin access to the Page. On Facebook, open the Page, choose Manage, then Page access, and check that your own profile is listed with full control. If it is not, ask the Page owner to add you under People with Facebook access.

You are an admin but a Page is still missing. The first connection probably did not include every Page.

  1. In Facebook, open Settings & privacy > Settings > Business integrations.
  2. Find the Vendi Today connection and click View and edit.
  3. Tick every Page you want, confirm all permissions are on, and click Save.
  4. Return to Social Planner > Settings and connect the Pages again.

Common publishing errors

  • Content reported or against standards: Facebook rejected the text or link. Change the wording or remove the link.
  • Error validating access token: Your session expired, usually after a password change or 90 days without posting. Reconnect the account.
  • Two-factor authentication: Turn on two-factor on your personal Facebook account, then reconnect.
  • manage_permissions must be granted: You were added as an admin to a client's Page. Reconnect and approve every Page permission.
  • Missing or invalid image: The image link no longer opens. Re-upload the media.
  • Unknown error: The saved login lacks permissions. Reconnect and accept everything.
  • URL invalid or could not be posted: Facebook was busy indexing the link. Retry in a few minutes.

Reconnecting a Page

An expired Page should be reconnected by the same Facebook user who connected it originally. Otherwise, in Social Planner > Settings, disconnect the expired account first, then connect again with an account that has admin rights.

Good to know: Always tick every Page and accept every permission during connection; skipping one is the most frequent cause of later failures.
