Start a Workflow When a Form Is Submitted
Form Submitted is one of the most used triggers. As soon as someone sends one of your forms, the workflow can thank them, notify your team and begin follow-up.
What fires it
The trigger runs when a submission arrives for a form you choose. This works for forms placed on websites, funnels or shared links. The submitted details are saved to the contact, so later steps can use them as custom values.
Filters
- Form is: pick one or more forms. Leave it empty to run for every form.
- Terms and conditions: match people who accepted or did not accept, if your form includes a terms checkbox.
- Other filters, such as tags, can be added with Add filters.
Set it up
- Open Automation > Workflows and create a workflow.
- Click Add New Trigger and choose Form Submitted.
- Name it, for instance "Customer feedback form submitted".
- Under Add filters, select Form is and pick your form.
- Click Save Trigger.
- Add actions and test with a sample submission.
- Publish the workflow.
Example workflows
- Information collection: after the form is submitted, add a tag, notify the sales team and create a follow-up task.
- Lead qualification: use a Condition to check an answer field, send a booking link to qualified leads and a nurture email to the rest.
- Feedback: send a thank-you message and, for low scores, alert the support manager.
Tips
- Use one trigger with several forms selected when the follow-up is the same.
- Test on a real page rather than the preview, so you know the contact and fields map correctly.
- Forms that create a contact also fire Contact Created. Choose one of the two for your welcome message.
Good to know: Duplicate the workflow for another form and change only the Form is filter.
