Add Custom Meta Tags
Custom meta tags are small hidden notes in your page that tell search engines, browsers and social platforms how to treat it. You can add them without touching code.
Add a tag
- Go to Sites > Funnels or Sites > Websites and open your project.
- Open the page or step.
- Click the SEO Meta Data icon or tab.
- Scroll to the Links and Tags dropdown.
- Click + Add beside Custom Meta Tags.
- Enter the tag name and its content, then click Add.
- Click Update SEO Meta to save.
Example
To keep a private or draft page out of search results, add a tag named robots with the content noindex.
Uses
- Control how pages appear in search and when shared.
- Prevent indexing of thank-you pages or drafts.
- Fine-tune browser behavior such as caching.
Questions
- How long until changes show? Anywhere from hours to days, based on when search engines next visit.
- Can I add several tags? Yes, as many as you need.
- Will missing tags hurt? Missing a description or sharing data can weaken previews and visibility.
- What does noindex do? Search engines skip that page.
Good to know: Add noindex to thank-you and checkout pages, since you want only your public pages in search results.
