Use Google Forms Triggers and Actions in Workflows
Google Forms steps let a workflow begin when someone answers your form, and let you look up forms and responses later in an automation.
Connect first
Google Forms must be connected before it appears in the builder.
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- On All Integrations, find Google Forms and click Connect.
- Sign in with the right Google account and approve the permissions.
- Confirm the status says Connected.
Trigger
New or Updated Response starts a workflow when a response is added or edited. It checks about every five minutes, so there may be a short wait before the workflow starts.
Actions
- Find Form: returns details of a form.
- Find Response by ID: gets one specific response.
- Find Responses by Form Name: searches responses for a named form.
Build it
- Go to Automation > Workflows and click Add New Trigger.
- Search for Google Forms and select New or Updated Response.
- Choose the form and click Test Trigger. Submit a real response if none appears.
- Map the answers to workflow values.
- Add follow-up steps such as creating a Contact, adding a tag, or sending an email.
- Save and publish.
Tip for edits
Because the trigger also reacts to edited responses, add a condition if you do not want people processed twice.
Good to know: Use a real submission when testing, since sample data cannot reflect your actual question names.
