Collect Feedback With the Rating Element

The Rating element lets people respond with icons such as stars or hearts instead of typing, which usually lifts response rates for feedback questions.

What you can configure

  • Icon: Stars, hearts, thumbs-up, flags or light bulbs.
  • Scale length: From 1 to 10 steps.
  • Labels: Text for the ends of the scale, like "Poor" and "Excellent".
  • Color: Match the icons to your brand.
  • Storage format: Save the answer as a plain number, a percentage or a fraction.

Add a rating

  1. Go to Sites and open a form, survey or quiz in the builder.
  2. Click Add Element and find Rating (also under Quick Add).
  3. Drag it into position.
  4. Click it and choose the icon, number of steps, labels and color.
  5. Map it to a contact custom field so the score is saved to the Contact.
  6. Click Save and preview.

See the results

Each rating appears in Submissions and in an exported file. When it is mapped to a custom field, you can build Workflows on it, for example sending a thank-you message to people who rate 5 and creating a task when someone rates 2 or lower.

Good to know: Store ratings as numbers if you plan to filter or branch on them; percentages and fractions are nicer to read but harder to compare in conditions.
