Create and Schedule Pinterest Pins
You can build, schedule, and publish Pinterest pins from the same composer you use for every other network. One pin can even go to several boards in a single step.
Before you start
- Connect a Pinterest business account under Marketing > Social Planner > Settings > + Socials by clicking Connect Pinterest and signing in. You must be an admin of that Pinterest account.
- Each pin needs exactly one image or one video, plus at least one board.
Media limits
- Image: PNG or JPG, up to 10 MB.
- Video: MOV, MP4, or WEBP, up to 1 GB, between 4 seconds and 5 minutes, encoded with H.264 or H.265. Vertical ratios such as 9:16, 2:3, or 4:5 work best.
Create a pin
- In Social Planner, click + New Post.
- Select your Pinterest account in Post to.
- Upload your image or video and write the description.
- Enter a Title and a destination Link.
- Open the board dropdown and choose up to 25 boards. Private boards show a lock icon. Use Add board to create a new board on the spot.
- Preview the pin, then choose Save for later, Post now, Schedule post, Recurring post, or Send for approval.
Multiple boards
Every board you select produces its own separate pin, which keeps Pinterest analytics separated per board. If one board fails, the others still publish.
Troubleshooting
- Board missing: Confirm the right Pinterest account is connected and you have admin access, then reconnect the account to refresh the list.
- Pin rejected: Check file type, size, duration, and aspect ratio against the limits above.
Good to know: Fill in the title and link on every pin, since those two fields drive most of the clicks Pinterest sends back to your site.
