Company Triggers: Created and Changed

If you keep companies as their own records, two triggers let workflows respond to them: Company Created and Company Changed. Both are available in workflows that are built around the Company record rather than around a contact.

Company Created

Fires when a new company record appears, whether it was added manually, imported, submitted through a form, or added by an integration or API call.

Optional filters let you narrow it down, for example:

  • Industry contains "Real Estate".
  • Company Name contains "LLC".
  • Owner is not empty.

Typical actions: send a welcome email, associate contacts with the company, and sync the details to another system.

Company Changed

Fires when a company record is updated and the update matches the field conditions you set.

  1. Choose the fields to monitor, either standard or custom, such as Industry, Domain or Status.
  2. Pick an operator for each field. Is not empty passes when the field holds any value; Contains Phrase passes when the value includes your words.
  3. Add several filters if needed. They combine with AND logic, so every condition must be true.

Set one up

  1. Go to Automation > Workflows and create a workflow of the Company type.
  2. Click Add New Trigger and select Company Created or Company Changed.
  3. Name it, add filters, and click Save Trigger.
  4. Add actions and publish.

Examples

  • Healthcare onboarding: when Industry contains "Healthcare", enroll the company in a healthcare onboarding workflow.
  • Domain captured: when Domain becomes not empty, send an internal notification to the sales team so they can research the account.
  • New company welcome: send an email to the primary contact and create a research task.

Good to know: Company triggers only appear in company-based workflows, so create the workflow with the Company type first.
