Personalizing Page Text with URL Parameters

A URL parameter is a name-and-value pair at the end of a link, such as ?city=Austin. Vendi Today can read these values and print them inside your page, so one page can greet each visitor or campaign differently.

Where They Work

Funnels, websites, stores and webinars, in text areas such as headings, paragraphs, rich text, bullet lists, FAQs, popups, and button text and sub-text.

Insert a Parameter

  1. Open the page and edit a supported text element or button.
  2. Open the Custom Value Picker and choose URL Parameter.
  3. Enter the parameter name (for example city).
  4. Optionally set a default value and a text transformation.
  5. Insert it. It shows up as a visual token, which you can click later to change settings.
  6. Save, publish, then test by opening the page with ?city=Austin added.

Defaults and Formatting

The default appears whenever the parameter is missing or empty, so the line never reads blank. It can be plain text or an existing Custom Value. Transformations are UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case and Sentence case. Hyphens and underscores in incoming values turn into spaces, so emergency-plumber becomes "Emergency Plumber" in Title Case.

Behavior Notes

  • Names are not case-sensitive, so ?City= and ?city= match.
  • The same parameter can appear several times, each token with its own formatting.
  • Incoming values are sanitized, so pasted markup displays as harmless text.

Sending the Value in a Link

Add the parameter to the link you share, such as https://yourdomain.com/offer?first_name={{contact.first_name}}. The merge field fills in each contact's name, and a token named first_name on the page displays it.

Good to know: Always set a sensible default, because anyone arriving from a plain link will see it.
