Vary Your Wording Automatically with Spintax

Spintax lets you write several versions of a phrase once and have Vendi Today pick one at random each time a message goes out. Messages feel more natural and less copy-pasted, especially in large sends.

The syntax

Wrap the options in curly braces, start with the word SPIN, and separate options with a pipe character:

{SPIN|Hey|Hello|Hi} {{contact.first_name}}

Each recipient gets one of the options. It works in the email builder, Workflows, Conversations and bulk sends.

How to add it

  1. Open your email or template in the editor.
  2. Type your spintax where you want variation.
  3. Save the message or template.
  4. Send a few tests to see different results.

Good places to use it

  • Reminders: {SPIN|Just a reminder|Friendly reminder|Quick reminder} about tomorrow's appointment.
  • Follow-ups: {SPIN|Checking in|Following up|Circling back} on our last conversation.
  • Calls to action: {SPIN|Want to learn more?|Interested in hearing more?|Shall we book a quick call?}

Combine it with personalization

Options can contain merge fields and custom values. For example {SPIN|Hi {{contact.first_name}}|Learn more about {{customvalue1}}} produces different personalized lines.

Use it wisely

Mailbox providers can spot simple word swaps, so changing only a greeting does little. Spin whole phrases or sentences, keep every option natural, and treat spintax as one tool among good sending practices.

Good to know: Read every variation aloud before saving. Each option must make sense in the sentence around it.
