Removing Schema Markup from a Page
If structured data becomes outdated, wrong or no longer wanted, you can remove one schema or all of them from a page.
Delete in Form View
- Open the page in the editor and go to SEO & AI search optimization > Schema Markup.
- In the schema list on the left, click the three-dot menu beside the one you want gone.
- Choose Delete, then confirm with Yes, Delete.
To clear everything, delete each schema in the list, click Validate & Save, and confirm Delete all schema markup? by choosing Yes, Delete.
Delete in JSON View
- Open the schema editor and switch to JSON View.
- Remove all of the JSON-LD code.
- Click Validate & Save and confirm.
Deleting only part of the code can cause validation errors, so clear it completely when removing everything.
Delete with AI Chat
Open the AI chat and ask in plain words, such as "Remove all schema markup from this page" or "Delete the Organization schema". The AI reviews what exists, removes it and shows a confirmation with an option to view the result. It can remove several at once.
Recovery and Publishing
Deletion cannot be undone directly, but you can open Version History, pick a version that still includes the schema, and restore it. Changes show in preview after saving but only go live when you publish.
Removing schema affects only that page, not other pages or steps.
Good to know: Before wiping schema, copy the JSON from JSON View to a safe place in case you want it back.
