No-Show and Follow-Up Notifications
What happens after an appointment matters as much as the reminder that happened before it. Vendi Today includes a follow-up notification type that sends automatically once an appointment has passed, which you can use to re-engage no-shows or simply thank customers who attended.
Setting up a follow-up notification
In a calendar's Notifications settings, add a follow-up notification and set how long after the appointment time it should send — an hour later, the next morning, or several days out, depending on your goal. Unlike reminders, which count down to the appointment, follow-ups count forward from it, and you can configure more than one at different delays if you want a short-term and a longer-term touch point.
Using follow-ups for no-shows
Since follow-up notifications trigger off the appointment's scheduled end time rather than its final status, they're a natural fit for reaching out to no-shows — send a message a couple of hours after the missed appointment inviting the customer to rebook, before they've moved on and forgotten about it entirely. Pair this with a workflow that specifically checks for a No-Show status if you want the message content to differ for no-shows versus completed appointments.
Using follow-ups after a completed appointment
The same notification type works just as well as a thank-you message, a request for a review, or a reminder about next steps — book the next session, complete a form, or pay an outstanding balance.
Good to know: Because follow-ups fire regardless of the final appointment status by default, pair them with a workflow if you need genuinely different messaging for a no-show versus a customer who actually showed up.
