Use Notion Triggers and Actions in Workflows

Connect Notion to build documentation, client pages, and task databases that update themselves as your CRM changes.

Triggers

  • New Database Item
  • Updated Database Item
  • Updated Page

All three are polled about every five minutes.

Actions

  • Create Database Item adds an entry to a chosen database.
  • Update Database Item edits properties on an existing entry.
  • Archive Database Item archives an entry.
  • Add Content to Page appends text to a page.
  • Retrieve a Page fetches a page so later steps can use its content.

Set up

  1. Go to Automation > Workflows and add a Notion trigger or action.
  2. Click Connect Now, then choose which pages and databases to share with the connection. Alternatively use Settings > Integrations.
  3. Select the database and map its properties to workflow values.
  4. Use Test Trigger or Test Action to verify.
  5. Save and publish.

Ideas

  • Create a Notion row for every new form submission, with the contact's answers in the properties.
  • Log appointment outcomes into a Notion notes database after each Calendars booking.
  • Generate a proposal page when an opportunity reaches a chosen stage.

Good to know: Notion only lets the connection reach pages you explicitly share, so add any new database to the shared list before you try to select it.
