Accept Bank Transfers (ACH/SEPA) on Invoices

Let customers pay directly from their bank account instead of a card — useful for larger transactions, lower processing fees, or customers in regions where bank transfer is the norm.

Requirements

Bank transfer payments run through Stripe. You'll need ACH (US) or SEPA (Europe) capabilities enabled on your connected Stripe account before this option can appear on an invoice.

Add ACH Direct Debit to an invoice

  1. In your Stripe account settings, activate ACH Direct Debit under Payment Methods.
  2. Confirm your Stripe account is connected under Payments > Integrations.
  3. When creating an invoice, select ACH Direct Debit as a payment option, and enable auto-payment if you want future invoices to draft automatically.
  4. The customer enters their bank account and routing details securely at checkout.

Restrict an invoice to bank transfer only

If you want to remove the card option entirely and require payment by bank transfer:

  1. Create or open the invoice.
  2. In the Payment Options section, select Bank Transfer as the exclusive method.
  3. Save, then send the invoice.

What to expect

Bank transfers don't settle instantly like a card payment — ACH and SEPA transactions typically take a few business days to clear. A saved bank account can also be reused for future recurring invoices or subscriptions once a customer has paid this way once, avoiding the need to re-enter account details every cycle.
