Matching Staff Skills to the Right Services

Not every team member can (or should) perform every service. Staff skill-matching ensures a customer booking a specific service only sees time slots from people actually qualified to deliver it — instead of landing on a schedule opening for someone who's never done that treatment.

How matching works

Each service can be tied to a specific list of eligible staff members rather than your entire team. When a customer selects that service, the available time slots are pulled only from the calendars of staff assigned to it.

Setting it up

  1. Open the service you want to restrict.
  2. Find the assigned staff (or team/providers) setting for that service.
  3. Select only the staff members qualified to perform it — leave everyone else unchecked.
  4. Repeat for each service, since assignments are set per service, not per staff member globally.
  5. Test by booking as a customer and confirming only the intended staff show up as options.

Keeping assignments current

Review staff-to-service assignments whenever someone joins your team, changes roles, or completes new training. An outdated assignment either blocks a newly qualified staff member from getting booked or, worse, lets a customer book someone who can no longer perform that service.

Good to know: If a service shows no available slots at all, an unassigned or fully-booked staff list is one of the most common causes — check assignments before assuming the calendar itself is broken.
