Set Up Social Planner Email Notifications
Notifications keep your team informed when a social login is about to expire, when a post needs approval, and when something fails to publish.
The six alerts
- Account Pre-Expiry: Warns selected users before a connection expires.
- Account Expired: Tells selected users that a connection has expired.
- Request for Post Approval: Goes to the approver when a post is submitted.
- Approved Post: Goes to the post creator after approval.
- Rejected Post: Goes to the creator with the reviewer's comment.
- Post Failed: Goes to selected users with the failure reason.
Configure an alert
- Make sure your accounts are connected, then open Marketing > Social Planner > Settings.
- Choose Notifications from the left menu.
- Use the Status toggle beside an alert to switch it on or off.
- Click the pencil icon in the Action column.
- Pick the email template. The default is selected automatically; you can swap in a custom template.
- For alerts that allow it, click + to choose the users who should be notified.
- For pre-expiry and expired alerts, choose how often reminders repeat.
- Click Save Changes.
Approval-related alerts go to fixed recipients, so you only choose the template for those.
About expiry reminders
Facebook logins last about 90 days. A pre-expiry alert goes out around day 80, and reminders can repeat every 1 to 10 days.
Default template preview
The default templates are built into the system and cannot be edited, so their preview appears blank. Emails still send with the correct content.
Good to know: Add at least two team members as recipients so an expired account is noticed even when someone is out of office.
