Accept Manual and Cash-on-Delivery Payments

Not every sale needs to be paid online at checkout. Manual payment methods let customers complete an order while paying later — in cash, on delivery, or through some other arrangement outside your online payment processor.

Setting up a manual payment method

  1. Go to Payments > Integrations > Manual Payment Methods.
  2. Choose Cash on Delivery, or create a custom method of your own (useful for things like "Pay by Check" or "Pay via Bank Transfer").
  3. Optionally add payment instructions or a message that customers see at checkout.
  4. Choose where this method should be available — Order Forms, your E-commerce Store, or both.
  5. Save.

You can run more than one manual method at the same time, and they work independently of your regular online payment integration.

Collecting payment once the order comes in

  1. Go to Payments > Orders and open the relevant order.
  2. Click Collect Payment.
  3. Choose the payment mode used.
  4. Mark the order as paid.

Once an order is marked paid this way, that status can't be reversed — so confirm payment was actually received first.

What manual payments can't do

Manual payment methods don't support recurring or subscription products — those require a payment method that can charge automatically on a billing cycle.
