Using the Image Element

The Image element places pictures, banners and graphics in your email. You can upload from your computer, paste a hosted link, or pick from your media library.

Settings you can control

  • Image source: upload a file (up to 10MB) or paste an image URL.
  • Alt text: a short description that appears if the image is blocked and is read aloud by screen readers.
  • Link: a destination URL that opens when the image is clicked.
  • Width and height: enter pixel values or tick the box to let the size follow the original proportions.
  • Alignment: left, center or right.
  • Padding: space on all four sides.

Adding an image

  1. Go to Marketing > Emails > Templates and open a template.
  2. Click Add Elements and drag Image into a column.
  3. Click the block and choose Upload or paste an Image URL.
  4. Fill in Alt Text.
  5. Add a Link if the image should be clickable.
  6. Set size, alignment and padding.
  7. Check the Visibility tab if the image should be desktop-only or mobile-only.
  8. Preview and send a test.

Keeping emails fast

Large pictures slow down loading and can look cropped in some inboxes. Compress photos before uploading, and use JPG for photographs and PNG for graphics with transparency. Animated GIFs are also supported.

Good to know: Many people read with images switched off at first, so always write meaningful alt text and keep key messages in real text.
