Track Clicks and Test an Affiliate Referral Link
Affiliate tracking only works when a visitor arrives through an affiliate's own link. This guide shows how to test that properly and where to read click numbers.
How Credit Is Assigned
Each affiliate has a link containing their affiliate ID. When someone opens that link, Vendi Today recognizes the affiliate and credits eligible clicks, leads and sales to them. Opening the campaign's plain destination page, without the ID, does not count as a referral, so your numbers will not move.
Test a Link Step by Step
- Open the affiliate's profile and scroll to Active Referral Links, or copy the link from the invitation email or the Affiliate Portal.
- Check that the URL includes the affiliate's ID.
- Open it in a private browser window and complete the action you are testing, such as a form submission or a test purchase.
- Return to Marketing > Affiliate Manager and review the affiliate's leads, customers and commissions.
Click Reporting
Unique link clicks are recorded and displayed in these places:
- The Affiliate Manager dashboard.
- The Affiliates list.
- The individual affiliate profile.
- The Affiliate Portal, so affiliates can watch their own link performance.
Only unique clicks are counted, so repeat visits from the same person do not inflate the total.
If Numbers Look Wrong
- Confirm the affiliate is assigned to the campaign and is not suspended.
- Check that the campaign is live (green) rather than paused (red).
- Make sure the product or form you tested belongs to the campaign source.
Good to know: Test in a private window so earlier cookies from your own browsing do not interfere.
