Manage Team Permissions for Payments
Rather than giving a staff member all-or-nothing access to Payments, you can control exactly which parts of the module each person can view, create, edit, delete, export, or configure.
The six permission areas
- Orders — process payments and partial payments
- Subscriptions — create, modify, and cancel subscriptions
- Transactions — issue refunds and manage receipts
- Taxes — configure tax rates and settings
- Products — create and manage your product catalog
- Payment Settings — adjust general payment configuration
Each area supports its own set of actions (view, create, update, delete, export, configure), so you can, for example, let someone view transactions for reporting purposes without being able to issue a refund, or let an accountant configure taxes without touching product listings.
Set permissions for a staff member
- Go to Settings > My Staff and select the team member you want to edit.
- Open Roles & Permissions.
- Under each of the six Payments areas, check the specific actions that person should be able to take.
- Save.
Some actions depend on others — for example, bulk product actions won't be available to a staff member unless they also have Create/Edit access for Products.
Why this matters
Splitting Payments into these six areas lets you build role-appropriate access: give your front-desk staff order and transaction visibility without exposing tax configuration or the ability to delete products, and reserve refund and settings access for the people who actually need it.
