Understanding Association Limits

When you link records together — say, connecting Properties to an Agent, or Vehicles to a Customer — you can set a cap on how many records can be linked in that relationship, so your data stays organized rather than growing unbounded.

The limit

For a one-to-many relationship, you can cap it anywhere up to 1,000 linked records.

A practical example

A real estate business might set up a one-to-many association limiting each Agent to managing no more than 50 Properties at a time.

Why set a limit at all

Limits keep your data intentional and prevent accidental over-linking as your account grows and more team members are creating and connecting records.

Where to configure this

Limits are set when you create or edit an association between two object types, under Settings → Objects → [Object] → Associations.
