Create QR Codes in Bulk From a CSV File
If you need dozens or thousands of codes for event badges, coupons, product labels, or locations, you can generate them all at once by uploading a simple spreadsheet. Each row becomes one code.
Prepare your file
The file needs just two columns:
- name: the label for the code.
- url: the full destination address.
Rules that prevent errors:
- The top row must read exactly
url, namewith no extra columns. - Every address must begin with
http://orhttps://and contain no spaces. - Leave no blank rows or blank header cells.
Use Download Sample CSV in the bulk window to start from a correct template.
Generate the codes
- Click Sites, then QR Codes.
- Click the Create Bulk QR Codes icon in the upper right.
- Download the sample CSV if needed and fill it in.
- Drag your file into the window or click to browse.
- Pick a destination folder. Create the folder beforehand, because only existing folders are listed. If you choose none, codes go in the main library.
- Click Upload and watch the live progress counter.
- When every row shows success, click Close and open the folder to see your codes.
Fix problems
The tracker flags rows that failed. The most common causes are incorrect headers and invalid addresses; the message names the row. Correct the file and upload again.
After creation
Select the codes to download them as PNG, SVG, or PDF, move them between folders, or rename them. You can edit a code's destination later without changing its image. Scans for each code show up in Analytics.
Good to know: Include a distinctive code or location in each name, such as "Table 14", so you can tell scan results apart later.
