The Phone Dialer Overview

The dialer is the browser-based calling console built into Vendi Today. It's where you place calls, answer them, and handle everything that happens during and after a conversation, without leaving the app.

Turning it on

Enable the dialer from Settings > Phone System. Once enabled, a dialer icon appears in your sidebar for one-click access from anywhere in the platform.

What you can do from it

  • Dial out — type a name or number and get live auto-complete suggestions from your contacts.
  • Answer inbound calls — a call banner pops up with the caller's info so you can accept, decline, or send it to voicemail.
  • Transfer calls — hand a live call off to a teammate; the call's context (contact record, notes) carries over with it.
  • Use the dialpad mid-call — send DTMF tones to navigate a menu system (IVR) you're calling into.
  • Take notes and tag calls — log what happened while it's fresh, and tag the call for reporting.
  • Browse recent calls and contacts — dedicated tabs let you filter by date, name, or tag without leaving the dialer.
  • Check voicemail — play, download, or read the transcription of any voicemail directly from the dialer.

Keeping it out of your way

  • Pin the dialer to keep it on screen while you work in other parts of the platform — otherwise it auto-minimizes when you click elsewhere.
  • Drag it to reposition it anywhere on screen; if it's pinned, it reopens in that same spot next time.
  • Minimize it at any point without ending the call — reopen it whenever you need the controls again.
