Choose Signature Types: Draw or Type
When someone signs a document in Vendi Today, they can either draw their signature by hand or type their name in a script-style font. As the account owner, you can control which of these options are available.
Configuring it
This is a single account-wide setting found in your document settings. Choose one of three options:
- Draw only — recipients must hand-draw their signature (using a mouse, finger, or stylus).
- Type only — recipients type their name and it's rendered in a signature-style font.
- Both — recipients pick whichever method they prefer.
Any signing session that starts or refreshes after you change this setting will reflect the new choice.
Does it affect anything else?
No — regardless of which signature method a recipient uses, everything else behaves identically: the audit trail, activity tracking, and any workflow automation tied to the document all function exactly the same.
When you might restrict this
- Draw only can feel more traditional and closer to a physical signature, which some clients or industries prefer.
- Type only speeds up signing, especially on mobile, since there's nothing to draw.
- Both gives recipients the most flexibility if you don't have a strong preference either way.
