Use Smart Send to Pick the Best Delivery Time
Smart Send looks at how your audience has behaved recently and suggests the hour when an email is most likely to be opened and clicked. It is offered as the fifth sending option, next to Send Now, Schedule, Batch Schedule and RSS Schedule.
What it needs
- At least 1,000 emails delivered from your account in the last 60 days. Until you reach that, the option is greyed out and a progress bar shows how close you are.
- A regular campaign created under Marketing > Emails > Campaigns. Other types such as A/B tests and batch sends are not supported yet.
How the recommendation works
Smart Send reviews opens, clicks and other engagement from the previous 60 days, weighs them by hour of day, and compares each hour with your own averages so it does not suggest a historically weak window. When data for a particular hour is thin, it widens the window until the result is reliable. It works for your account as a whole rather than each contact's time zone.
Use it
- Create your campaign and design the email.
- Click Send or Schedule and choose Smart Send.
- Complete the sender, subject and recipient fields.
- Click Get Recommendation to see the suggested time.
- Accept it, or enter your own date and time instead.
- Schedule the campaign.
Troubleshooting
- If a saved recommendation is now in the past, click Try New Suggestion to recalculate. Do the same after changing recipients.
- If you see an error banner, fetch the recommendation again.
- If no recommendation is available, pick a time manually.
After sending, open Marketing > Emails > Statistics to see the engagement lift compared with your usual results.
Good to know: You can override Smart Send at any time by rescheduling before the send hour.
