Adding Videos with the Video Element

The Video element plays clips from popular hosting services, custom embed code or your own file links.

Add the Element

  1. Go to Sites, open a funnel or website, and open the page in the editor.
  2. Click Add Elements (+), search for Video, and drag it into place.
  3. Click the element to open its settings and choose a video type.

Pick a Source

  • YouTube: open the video, click Share, copy the link, select YouTube, and paste it into Video URL. YouTube Shorts work the same way.
  • Vimeo: make sure privacy settings allow access through the shared link, then paste the link after choosing Vimeo.
  • Wistia: set sharing so anyone with the link can view it, then paste the link after choosing Wistia.
  • Custom Embed: copy the platform's Embed code and paste it into the Video Embed field.
  • HTML5: enter an MP4 URL, a WebM URL and a Thumbnail URL for direct files.
  • Hosted Video: a separate option for videos stored with Vendi Today, covered in the hosted video player article.

Playback and Look

Use the settings to enable Autoplay, change Width, set colors, and style the background around the player. Browsers often block autoplay with sound, so a muted start is more reliable.

If a Video Does Not Load

Confirm the link is correct and that the video's privacy or sharing options allow viewing through that link. Private or unlisted-with-restrictions videos will not play on your page. If the standard URL fails, try the embed code instead.

Good to know: Add a thumbnail for HTML5 videos, since it avoids a blank box while the file loads.
