Change Heading Tags (H1, H2 and More)

Heading tags give a page its outline. They help visitors scan, help screen readers navigate, and tell search engines what matters most.

Pick the right level

  • H1: the main page title. Use one per page.
  • H2: main section titles.
  • H3 and below: sub-sections.

Heading tags describe structure. They do not have to change how text looks, which you control through styles.

Change a tag

  1. Go to Sites > Funnels or Websites, open the project and click Edit on the page.
  2. Highlight the heading text in the element.
  3. In the floating formatting bar, open the heading dropdown.
  4. Choose the tag you need, for example H2.
  5. Save and preview.

If you cannot see the dropdown

It only appears for heading elements. Plain paragraph text does not offer it, so add a Heading element.

Best practices

  • Never skip levels, such as H1 straight to H4.
  • Use headings for structure, not just for bigger text.
  • Include your topic naturally in the H1.
  • Style headings separately for mobile and desktop.

Good to know: Two headings can look identical but have different tags, so choose by meaning rather than by size.
