Choose an Unsubscribe Flow: One-Step, Two-Step or Dynamic

When a contact clicks the unsubscribe link in one of your emails, what happens next is up to you. Vendi Today offers three flows, set once for your whole account.

The three flows

  • One Step: the contact is unsubscribed the moment they click. They can then leave optional feedback.
  • Two Step: the contact lands on a confirmation page and must confirm before the unsubscribe is final. This protects against accidental clicks.
  • Dynamic: a hybrid. It behaves like one step by default, but asks for confirmation when the click happens within five minutes of the email being delivered, or when the contact record was created less than an hour ago. Those quick clicks are often caused by security scanners or mistakes rather than real intent.

Set your flow

  1. Go to Marketing > Emails > Campaigns.
  2. Click the Settings gear icon.
  3. Select Unsubscribe.
  4. Choose One Step, Two Step or Dynamic.
  5. Click Preview to see what a contact will experience.
  6. Click Save.

The choice applies to every email sent from your account until you change it. It does not alter anyone who has already unsubscribed.

Testing the Dynamic flow

Send an email to a test contact and click the unsubscribe link right away, or use a contact you created in the last hour. You should see the confirmation step instead of an instant unsubscribe.

If someone unsubscribes by mistake

After unsubscribing, a contact can use the feedback form to say they unsubscribed by mistake and subscribe again, which restores their email status.

Good to know: Two Step or Dynamic reduces accidental list loss, but a longer process can annoy people who genuinely want out, so preview it before saving.
