Resize and Expand Panels in the Workflow Builder
Configuring a long email or a trigger with many filters in a narrow side panel is awkward. You can drag the panel wider, or expand a step to full screen when you need room.
Resize a panel
- Go to Automation > Workflows and open a workflow.
- Click a trigger or action to open its configuration panel.
- Move your pointer to the inner edge of the panel until the cursor becomes a horizontal resize arrow.
- Drag right to widen it, or left to give room back to the canvas.
- Release when it feels right.
The left-hand workflow tools panel can also be resized. The canvas adjusts automatically as you drag.
Expand to full screen
- Click a step to open it.
- Use the expand control in its configuration panel.
- Edit all fields in the large view.
- Click the close or collapse control to return to the normal layout. Your changes stay.
When to use each
- Widen: long-form email content, steps with many fields, or reading merge fields in full.
- Narrow: mapping out structure in the Advanced Builder, where you want as much canvas as possible.
- Full screen: detailed emails, WhatsApp or SMS wording, form steps, and triggers with multiple filters or exclusions.
Works in both builders
The same controls apply in the standard and advanced builders, for actions, triggers, and left-hand tools.
Pairing with other tools
- Use Find & Replace while expanded to check merge fields or tags.
- Use Undo if a drag or edit goes wrong.
- After the AI builder drafts a workflow, widen the panel to fine-tune each step.
Good to know: If a panel seems cut off on a small laptop, try dragging it narrower or zooming out your browser instead of scrolling.
