Recipe: AI-Written Facebook Replies with a DM Only for Positive Comments
This recipe answers every comment with a reply written by AI, then checks the comment's mood and sends a private message only when it was positive. It keeps conversations personal without pestering unhappy commenters.
What you need
- A connected Facebook page.
- A text AI action available in your workflows (the GPT action).
- Optionally, the AI Intent Detection action for sentiment.
Build it
- Create a workflow with the trigger Facebook comment on a post. Select the page and post, and restrict to first-level comments.
- Action - GPT (or other text AI): write a short prompt such as "Write a friendly two-sentence reply to this comment. Do not make promises: {{comment text}}". Insert the comment text with the variable picker.
- Action - Reply in Comments: post the AI response using the AI output variable.
- Action - Intent check: send the original comment to an AI sentiment step. Use AI Intent Detection, which creates Positive, Negative and None branches.
- Positive branch: add a Facebook Interactive Messenger action with a warm opening message and buttons, such as See our services and Book a call.
- Negative branch: create a task or notification so a person follows up personally.
- None branch: end quietly, or tag for review.
- Save and publish.
Prompt tips
- State the tone ("warm, brief, professional").
- Say what to avoid (prices, guarantees, links).
- Give a length limit.
- Remind the AI to answer in the commenter's language.
Safety measures
- Test with varied comments, including rude ones.
- Review the first batch of replies manually.
- Keep a person in the loop for complaints.
Good to know: The AI actions are premium, so add a keyword filter on the trigger if you only want to respond to specific kinds of comments.
